Someone else mentioned their swap items might be late due to a snowstorm! Looks like you're getting more then she mentioned to me yesterday! I live in MN and we only have about six inches in our yard, I'm glad I don't live on the east coast....lol

It was snowing a little last night, but it melted and it didn't last very long. The last couple of days it's been 20 - 30 degrees and it's been sloshy outside......maybe it's a couple of inches more, but not much more then that. I'm just glad we're not getting any more snow, well at least for now.

All that snow makes me smile. I know the hassles/headaches with it, but also remember back to being first married and getting 24" one night. We were outside playing in the snow - some other college students joined us too Smile

Karen - are you getting some scrapping done?

My Front Yard

Post by tntscrapper on Sun Feb 07, 2010 12:58 am

Here's what my front yard looks like right now according to my DH, who's home alone. I'm indoors at a hotel for a 3-day crop (soon to be a 4-day or possibly 5-day crop) as no one can go home Sunday. The cropping continues ...

According to my DH it is not the fluffy stuff we had in our December storm, it's the heavy snow. Best of all, on Tuesday we're expecting a minimum of 6 more inches of snow or a wintery mix. Hope to get out of the hotel tomorrow after DH finishes digging out. Luckily, the scrappers I was with had enough supplies to keep going. We may be out of clothes, but we had scrap supplies to scrap with! Very Happy

Wow guys! You all be safe. The snow is coming down here in big pretty flakes. But no accumulation yet. I am secretly hoping for a snow day tomorrow so I have an excuse to scrap all day. It's bad when even the teacher wants a snow day.

Glad to be home

Post by tntscrapper on Mon Feb 08, 2010 2:15 pm

Well, I'm back home today. We stocked up on food in preparation for tomorrow's "weather event". I wish I could say I'll be cleaning during the next few days of snow -- I will likely be scrappin' however!

Glad you finally made it home - hope you are having fun scrapping!

Just home - our snow is just 3-4 inches per day (day 3 of this now - to stop tomorrow then resume later in the week).

Interesting part - it is coming down sideways. Visibility when outside of a city is really not too hot (about 1/4 mile if lucky). Oh well - errands finished - a few more school things, then scrap stuff here I come Smile

The only

Post by tntscrapper on Mon Feb 08, 2010 3:28 pm

The only good thing about this weather is that it forces us to slow down and spend time with family. Of course, I could talk. I imagine having kids and spouses hanging around 24/7 for days on end will make some people batty! Laughing Not for me though ... no kids around here and DH heads to his man-cave to commune with his video games. He shows his face periodically to check on me and say hi, watch a movie together or eat! Love the new face of togetherness.

loul

My kids are wondering why they had school today! I'm just glad they did...lol

The roads are very bad out and guess what???? Tyler is finally driving again! It's just when we say he can and he needed to drive today, because I couldn't drive him to his internship that started today. I hope he listens to what I told him over and over again...........drive very slow the roads are very slippery!!! I hope he doesn't get into another accident, if he does I believe MN takes his license away.

Trying to finish up loads and loads of laundry! The storm knocked our power out! No power/heat for 6 hours on Friday night. Then it came on for half an hour on Sat. morning. Then off completely again. It got down to 38 degrees in the house. Kids were crying from being so cold. We all looked like fat penguins we had so many clothes on! And buried deep in the fleece blankets. Yesterday morning we called the local hotel which had power and heat and a room! After the plow made a narrow path we slipped and sloshed our way to the hotel. Our neighbor called to say it had come back on at 3:30 a.m. I came back home to check everything at about 2:00 pm and the house was finally warmed up to 68 degrees. There are still thousands without power. Another storm is on its way, too! They just changed the forecast a bit ago for tomorrow from 5 to 10 inches to 10 -20 inches!. They are saying that nothing like this has hit this area in over 100 years! The tree at the side of our house split in two from the weight of the snow. Didn't hit the house, though! No school today or tomorrow. (They will have to go longer into June to make up the time). Hoping there's no more power outages!

Our communications bundle has been out since Sat. So frustrating but at least we still have power. But by Thursday we are supposed to get another 13-16 inches! I am starting to feel rather housebound. But I am scrapping. Karen M

Totally get the housebound thing - hope you are doing ok - scrapping is fun, but i hope your communications stuff is restored soon.

Out 4-wheeling this am (necessity, not fun) - love pulling a trailer through snow and on ice with moving animals inside ROFL - NOT. However, the 4wd on my truck is fun when there are open areas of snow - however, if it is much over a foot or two, I don't go in - don't want to have to call and say I am stuck Embarassed Embarassed
