Gift ideas needed

My son will be 18 years old on July 15th, does anyone have any ideas on what to get an 18 year old?

Also instead of a graduation party he wants to go on a trip, where would you recommend for an 18 year old? We'll be there too, not sure if know that or not......lol I hope he doesn't mind, because it's going to be hard to let him go on his own, he's still our baby.

Hmm - mine took off to a job at BWCA for the summer three days after grad, so not much help .

One friends dd wanted a trip to a Nascar race - she and her dad went, got pit passes, the whole nine yards.

Not sure of his interests, but I know my sister liked Mexico (Mom and Dad didn't go with, but one of my younger, her older, brothers did). Another friend went to Disney, another wanted to go to the Black Hills, another to San Francisco. I would just ask him.

As a senior English teacher, I know a lot of my kids want laptops or other electronics for graduation. Maybe an iPod Touch.

Trips? There have already been some good ones mentioned. What about a cruise? You could do some things together but he would also be able to do his own thing. I know a few of our kids have done a cruise for graduation.

OMGosh Lisa, an iPod Touch!!! I forgot he said he wanted one after seeing his younger brothers iPod Touch! We surprised Charley with one for Christmas, because Tyler wanted a nicer Xbox system and we hadn't a clue what we were going to get Charley.

Great ideas for trips, but loving the cruise idea

How about an new apple tablet (ipad) ? They are all the rage. Or maybe see if the college he is planning on attending has any trips planned that he could sign up for and go on. URI (state university here) goes to Cape Verde, China, Puerto Rico, and England I think. They're not that expensive, educational, and they get to meet other new students. Just an idea.

Great ideas Darshell, I think I remember seeing planned trip through his school....love that idea! He did mention the ipad, but for that money you could buy a full running laptop......those ipad don't impress me, but he did mention he wanted one. Maybe I'm too old to like the ipad....lol

I don't like them either lol I need something that multitasks but all the kids are loving them
