Name 3 RAK

Post by buster55904 on Sat Sep 11, 2010 8:45 am

While searching for a Christmas stamp, I came across two "Studio G" stamps that were the same. Well I don't need two of the same stamp, so here's an RAK!

The first person to guess the three type of fish I caught last week in Bemidji, will win the stamp.

Name three fish per post and no back to back posting! Good luck!

Smile Smile Smile I know my guess, however, it may not be quite fair for me to guess since I live "nearby" Smile

I will watch to see what others guess for now - what a fun game Smile

I know nothing about fishing or your area's wild life so this is a complete GUESS:

trout
sunny
some brown fish

Dawn -- you must know something about fish/fishing Smile

Guess I will make a stab - there are two more than the Walleye and Northerns, but since I can only pick one

Crappie (Just for Cecily - this fish isn't brown Smile)

Actually, fishing is on my bucket list to do one day before I'm too old and too creaky to sit for hours on a dock or in a boat. My DH grew up fishing with his grandfather and hated it - too boring and too many bugs IHO.

My guess for the one I missed is perch?

I've given up guessing! gently digressing=love the fish pics. I saw a show about a company that does the taxidermy-ing of animals and fish and they did a display like the last pic you posted. The show was really interesting! (I guess I'm a bit of o geek)

After a long day of cleaning Dh and I went to the Mississippi River on Friday night. On the drive we were talking about if Tyler would go fishing on his own and I said he would and dh said he wouldn't! We'll not knowing what Tyler was up to Tyler sent us a text and said he went fishing! Of course we had to ask if he went by himself or did someone go with him....lol! I was right!!!! His room mate was gone for the weekend so Tyler decided to do a little fishing Smile

I'm not sure what Tyler would do if he caught a fish with teeth! We didn't give him any long pliers thing to remove the hook....lol!

When I caught my Pike dh had stopped fishing and decided to take Emily for a walk. I asked the guy next to me if he could grab my net and help and he did Smile DH saw what was going on and came running back to help out. It took dh and that other guy a while to remove that hook, I don't think I'm that brave to try it affraid

sounds like quite the adventure Smile Dd caught her first Northern at age 5 Shocked

She had her little pole all rigged up for sunnies and this northern grabbed hold!! She reeled him in. She and dh were fishing on an outing for the two of them and he about fell over when she brought it in (it was small, but still). Especially as it was out of season Embarassed Embarassed and it definitely wasn't what they were looking for.

So - last guess (mainly because I really want to know now) - and, yes, I did google it

River Carpsucker [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Blue Sucker [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
If it is the Northern Hogsucker - wow are those things huge~!![You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

no clue what these guys looked like until I googled them

Lucinda, I never heard of that fish either! It looks like a Muskie or a super sized Pike....lol!

Dawn, that would be so fun....lol! We don't usually get lucky like that day! DH and I both caught Walleyes on Lake Bemidji and that was our first time ever catching Walleyes! Pikes we've caught before, but not as big as the one I caught that day Very Happy

OK, close enought to tomorrow..........it was a River Redhorse! The guy fishing next to us said it was a sucker and he called him a Redhorse....lol I had to look it up as soon as I returned home! Here's a picture:

Cool fish - I wouldn't have known what it was either. Sounds like you had a great day for fishing. Did you get some pics?

Dawn - I totally agree - a fishing outing would be wonderful with or after the retreat (or before if we want to eat the fish we catch)
