Decorate your ATG Contest!
Since so many of us on the MB have ATG guns or recently purchased the pink ones, I want to do a contest. Decorate your ATG! If you go to crops or live in a house with other scrappers, it's in your best interest to decorate your ATG so it looks different from anyone else's. Here's incentive to get it done.
To enter, you need to post a picture of your ATG gun before decoration and after. Any ATG gun qualifies, not only the pink one.
The winner gets a choice of two fabulous prizes either WRMK 2-page Halloween set OR an Echo Park A Walk in the Park Collection Kit. BTW, Helen recently won a WRMK kits in another RAK and she emailed me to say how cool it was because all the work was done for you.

The deadline is November 7 at midnight Eastern. The selection will be made by MB vote.
Here are some gorgeous samples from the Cricut MB. Go down to the middle.

Re: Decorate your ATG Contest!
I'm thinking maybe if you use stickers or rub ons you'll need to spray the gun after so everything is secure and protected? Anyone tried decorating theirs yet?

Re: Decorate your ATG Contest!
oh dear - I still don't know what to do
so far, all I have accomplished is attaching a plain piece of paper to the inside of the ATG on the clear side - not just a ton.
Working, though. (just don't like anything I have tried so far)

Great idea about the paper on the inside! I was such a dum-dum. I thought everybody had put their stuff on the outside, so I've been searching for a polyurethane spray to spray everything once I've designed it. Back to the drawing board - thanks Lucinda!

There are some great ideas on youtube. I decorated mine this weekend but I am not sure I am done. I'll post pictures later this week.

I've updated the original contest announcement to reflect that the winner has a choice of either the WRMK Halloween Layout Kit or an Echo Park A Walk in the Park collection kit.
The deadline's Sunday, November 7 at midnight Eastern.

Well - maybe not quite as I planned, but fun for my desk. I stuck with things that stay in place even when "squished"

Re: Decorate your ATG Contest!
It makes me wish I had an ATG. Do you really like to use them? The one time I tried it felt so awkward.

I used to think it would be awkward too until I tried it. I have the pink one with the 1/4" tape and (have had wrist surgery before) and I haven't had any problems using it. Have had more problems when I type without my wrist braces!

Re: Decorate your ATG Contest!
It has taken me a few weeks to get used to it. I still go back to small tape runner with tiny objects. Maybe someday I will get it better, but it is handy for doing about 90% of the stuff use tape with.

Re: Decorate your ATG Contest!
I'm not eligible to win my own contest, but I used the contest to get me off my duff and do my ATG decorating.
Here's my "before" picture of my ATG:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Here's my "after" pictures. I went with a pink/purple color scheme b/c I am lazy and I didn't want to paint my handle. On one side I just did my initials and the other (clear) side I did the decorations. I also decorated the edges. I still need to find a poly spray to coat everything and prevent it from getting dirty.

I use glue dots and glue lines for small/detail stuff too. Although someone on another MB mentioned the Zig marker pen and I just bought one to try. Intend to use it for small die cuts when my Xyron X is not nearby.

Re: Decorate your ATG Contest!
I have Zig marker pens - my favorite point (a felt one side of standard sharpie marker) is hard to find around here, so right now I have the edge type one and fine point pen tip. I used them exclusively (no xyron) until I found the Sizzix adhesive sheets.
The Zig markers hold well and work great. Sometimes it doesn't appear to be holding - I usually have to force myself to walk away for a few minutes and it is holding by the time I come back.
