January Stash reduction - as I said so earlier, I won't change, but items for this challenge must be purchased before 1/3/2011. I know, I know, this seems a bit strange, but we all get a chance to hit those after Christmas sales. Other months will have dates that occur before the month begins Smile.

Here is my first item for January - I am in a paper clip swap (first one where we all do them), and needed to follow a shape theme. Here is my result - everything from stash

Just for the record- Jeri and I split an order from Generations Crafting last night. Glad we beat the deadline!

You beat it by two days!! However, if you ordered BEFORE January 3rd, you don't have to count it Considering one of my favorite stores just called to say they just received a shipment - very, very, very happy that I have a day to plan

I don't know if I am adding any more to him yet or not - not fond of the ribbons - maybe inking edges will give him a bit more pop

thanks - a bit of inking helped. I was also thinking some teeny tiny pom poms for a nose would be cute - if I can't find them, it will have to be either liquid pearls or stickles

Cute paper clips!

I purchased a Sizzix Bigz Die 3-D Flower months ago and I finally decided to give it a try and I just love the die!

wow - those turned out beautiful - did you make multiple cuts of the same shape before assembly?

Nope, that's just one cut per flower! The die has two cuts, one for a smaller flower and one for a larger flower.

He is a cutie... I would love to see the back and how you attached him!

Once I find my camera, I can take a better pic (it will show up, I know it will)

However - he is actually 3 layers below his top pieces

base/very thin shadow
black layer (with nose)
brown layer
shades of browns

on the base layer - I put a glue dot - then put paper clip on the dot
on the black layer - I put another glue dot on top paper clip and then put that layer on the base layer - so paper, glue dot, paper clip, glue dot, paper - then just finished assembling the top stuff and put it on at the end with regular adhesive.

I saw a tutorial where the lady used two glue dots - one on each side of the paper clip and really liked that method. I have tried glues/foam/etc, and never been as happy as I have been with the glue dots.

Technically this is a swap, but it all came out of my stash, so posting here as well.

It is a pretty simple tag with a lollipop flower (I think Lisa B did something similar to this - I also watched some You-Tube videos. Still looking for the one done with ribbons.) Photo isn't so hot as I still can't find my actual camera

I was going for a bit of an understated look that will compliment and not overwhelm a page . The grey and silver was harder to stick with than I thought. I did end up using some clear stickles as well - they look grey on the project, so figured that was fine.

All the wording is different. Since I am not a huge fan of rub-ons, I was pretty shocked to find some metallic gray ones in my stash LOL

Karen - I used a felt star, but the puck is plain scrap paper (star was also leftover from another project)
