October 2011
[prize selection photo here]
For October, the challenges will be fairly straight-forward.
Challenge One - post on October 4th - Participants: Jmmetoo, KMG, Lbaker, CandyHaz, Ceceparsley
1) take and post a photo of a hand-crafted swap (you created or someone else created - as long as it is a swap item that has been made - sorry, but buy and bag ones don't count for this challenge).
2) Create something using that swap and post a photo of your creation.
Note: if you remember who created the swap (I know I don't always save the bags), please remember to credit the person if they are on our message board!
Challenge Two - TECHNIQUE CHALLENGE - EARN 2 ENTRIES - post on October 7th - Participants: Jmmetoo, Ceceparsley, KMG
Grab your stash of leftover letters (stickers or leftovers from die cuts). Take a photo of the pile.
Create something NOT using letters for the title and take a photo of your result. Post both photos together (yes, I will help if you have issues with posting both photos).
Challenge Three - post on October 12th
1) Notice that stack of paper - is it growing? Here is a way we will help you out - it is time
to make something. Take a piece of cardstock and a piece of patterned paper. You may add any scraps you want, but only these two pieces of paper can start out whole. Take a photo of the two big pieces and whatever scraps you want to include.
2) create a layout or page or card or whatever, using those two pieces of paper (and whatever other parts you chose). Take a photo of your result and post!
Challenge Four - post on October 15th
Here we get tough - today you have to use a sketch! Use the sketch below to create a layout or card.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] It is from the 4x6 photo sketch blog. She has some great sketches at her site: HERE.
You can make it whatever size you wish. Turn it, tilt it, whatever you need to do. Enjoy and post your results!
Challenge Five - post on October 18th
Keep it simple - post something you have created using the color blue
Challenge Six - post on October 25th
Simple is out the window today! Are you up for the challenge? You know I like animals - no clue if you do or not. Your challenge today is to create a layout, card or project that incorporates an animal. Not just animal prints, but an actual picture or stamp or sticker or swap (you get the idea) of some type of animal. Cow, pig, cat, dog, elephant, camel, zebra - you choose!
Challenge Seven - post on October 28th
After the last challenge - time to go a bit easier on you
. Today, create something using a piece of 3x5 paper and a piece of 12x1 paper. Take a pic of the two pieces of paper before and then another after. Post both photos! Have fun!

Ok - question -
you said in the main topic that you have 48 hours to complete each one.
Does that start on the day or before?
Reason I m asking - I will be out of town on the 15th - (parents weekend at JMU) - can I post on the 14th for the 15 th entry? Or is it only 48 hours day of and day after?
does that make sense?

Re: October 2011
I will clarify in the post, but it is 12 hours before the day plus the day. So, for the 15th post, you have from the 14th at noon through the 16th at noon.
Hope this makes sense. I don't think I could have made it any more confusing if I tried
.
So - entries due on 15th. You can post 12 hours early or late, to keep noon as the deadline. All times are determined by CST.

Can we work on the projects now as long as we wait to post them on their due date?

Re: October 2011
You bet
As long as it isn't posted anywhere before the date, it counts. If it is a project that posts before the date, it doesn't count for that particular day.

These were from a color swap. I don't know who made what though. I made the tag; I at least remember that.

Re: October 2011
I realized as soon as I finished the attached that it qualified, but hadn't taken the before ... so here is a frame I made incorporating 2 of the 3 flowers I got from Amy at the crop in Illinois, with the third flower beside it ... does this still count

Super job! Cecily!
Yes, it is time stamped 10:27, so you are fine
(besides, I just got home and have to use it as my guide anyway
)
Love the hidden part of your layout!
Hmm - guessing that maybe a swap piece will be used every month - one less thing for me to think about.
Here is what I did (I am not in prize drawing, neither is anyone who enters after this post, but you can still post your work) - The little pumpkins are the swap part, but then they were incorporated into a bigger swap -- mainly the little bags for retreat this weekend.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
cell phone pic, but you can see the basic idea. Still adding pins (oh - that was a swap too!)
