Tomorrow, Tomorrow, the fun
tags of Christmas start tomorrow!!!
Can't wait to see what TH comes up with this year. His ideas always get me psyched up to try new tag things.

You bet! Whole point is to have fun
I never have all the same products, so anything I try turns out to be a scraplift.
It is so fun looking at the old and combining some of those things with the new.

I adore the little baubles hanging from the top. May need to do this for the tag swap.

I saw the tattered pine cone die earlier and thought it was way to small and what would you ever use it for .... Now I really want it

Re: Tomorrow, Tomorrow, the fun
His tips for sanding are fabulous - can't wait to use them. Even with cricut, I have an old mat I can use.
I really, really wanted the pinecone die (check out the Blitsy site - it is $12.95 right now), but now that I have seen the video, I am going to try and create a .cut file to do these. Why? because I had so much fun with the 12 day swap, I need another challenge to attempt. The toothpick help idea looks like a wonderful idea. His die would be quickest, but I found a fun sale yesterday with quite a few prizes for this next year
. Time to save $$
LOVE the rose idea from the pinecone - hmm, maybe it will have to be purchased.
I have cut quite a few of my embossing folders as he shows - it really makes things fit easier

Today's tag [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
At first, I was thinking it didn't look too impressive, but then discovered that it is acrylic with ink behind and such-where you put on the alcohol ink and use a stamp pad to 'remove' the place you want. I have only tried/used this technique on metallic tape - never thought to try on acrylic - love the idea!
Another take on the technique

Re: Tomorrow, Tomorrow, the fun
I think I have to try that on some fragments ... I have a charm done for a swap and a Christmas fragment would go great

The fragments are fun. I did some of those with one of the Halloween/Fall groups, but nothing as cool as he shows. Definitely going to try this one

Re: Tomorrow, Tomorrow, the fun
well, until Tim Holtz entered the scene, a fragment was a sentence that was not complete or a broken piece of something or other.

However, now a fragment can also be these 1/8" (approx) thick pieces of acrylic that Ranger sells that can be altered/heated/etc..
This is what they look like in the store (at least one style). In the pics of today's tags, they are the ornaments on the deer tag.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] alt="" />
kind of like embossing folders have always been embossing folders until he started selling them - now his are called texture fades (which confused the heck out of me for a bit - though that isn't too hard to do somedays
)

Today's tag didn't really grab me ... but I like the technique, think I'm going to try it with tinfoil and see how it works ... I really like the Merry Christmas card ...

Re: Tomorrow, Tomorrow, the fun
The technique is really cool. Hardest part - getting the right ink. I didn't have the same brand of ink pad and found that from all brands I do have, only my Memories brand ink pad worked. Be sure to plan on using scrap to start. Took me two or three tries to figure out exactly how to get it to work (also keep the paper towel on hand - having to go into the kitchen to find one makes the ink dry a bit too much LOL)

Re: Tomorrow, Tomorrow, the fun
Hmm - today's tag reminds me of a third grader's painting. It is really fun to see the techniques, but I sure prefer the tags he did at the end as 'bonus' - much prettier.
I think cutting out one of the 'ads' from the embossed area today and mounting could really give things a much more vintage feel.
however, judging from the comments, I am in the minority. I know my taste is a bit different than most - oh well
PS - even though the tag is a bit different - love the technique ideas

Re: Tomorrow, Tomorrow, the fun
I think you're right on this one, it doesn't look as nice as the other tags he has made. I think he went overboard with the color and it would of looked a lot better if he left the color off. Maybe a whitewash(sanded and aged looking) for the background to show case the beautiful wreath he made.
Re: Tomorrow, Tomorrow, the fun
I'm not thrilled with the tag for day 11 BUT I sure need a melting pot, some utee and clear shrink plastic ... those little leaves and branches, and the extra tags at the end are great

Re: Tomorrow, Tomorrow, the fun
Yet again - I am reminded -how outstanding his various techniques can be and love the demonstration photos/videos to go with them.
I am not a huge fan of the fragmented angel, but after seeing how his tissue paper comes, I think I will be keeping my old glad wrap and tin foil tubes to wrap tissue paper !!!
