FAQ's
This list will be updated as needed.
1) What happens if I am going to be late with a swap? It is up to you to communicate with your hostess. As long as you keep communication lines open, you do yourself, your hostess, and all the other members of your swap group a favor. Communication is the key to successful swaps. Note - some hostesses require an email address as well, just in case the site has issues. Please do not be offended if the hostess asks. We do not sell/rent or otherwise publish our mailing lists.
2) What is Flaking? It is when either a hostess or swapper does not follow through on what their promise to send items.
3) What are the risks of flakers? While we try very hard to be sure that flaking does not happen on our site (swappers who are late are tracked and at a certain point may be banned if they do not carry through as stated. Banning happens much more readily if communication is not maintained.) We all know life happens and we all try to understand. We do make allowances, but if it happens all the time, the administration reserves the right to ban a member for flaking.
4) What if my hostess flakes? This is rare, but it has happened in the past. If a hostess flakes, admin does what it can to help get pieces to members, but we cannot guarantee that items will be returned. So far, all hostesses have gotten materials to someone to get things out, but it is a risk we all take. If a hostess quits mid-swap, there are no guarantees that the swap will still occur. Scrapbookingfun.biz always strives to be sure that we have top notch hostesses that alleviate this risk.
5) What guarantees are offered with swaps? NONE.
6) Can I mail my items to individuals in the swap? Under normal circumstances - NO. However, there are exceptions to every rule. Sometimes a member is allowed to do this. This is a choice the hostess and swappers in her group make. Normal preference is for the late member to include enough postage and envelopes to mail the items to the hostess and she will send to members.
7) Are buy and bag swaps allowed? Yes. Hostesses may offer a buy and bag swap. Please realize that this type of swap entails all the same risks of regular swaps. Do not send money to a hostess that you cannot afford to loose. It is sometimes useful to send money to a hostess (Admin suggests you only do this via PAYPAL as Paypal provides you some protections) and have her purchase items in bulk. While these have always been successful to date, www.Scrapbookingfun.biz makes no guarantees regarding these swaps.
